West Ham News ("we", "us", "the site") is an independent, unofficial West Ham United news aggregator at westham.news. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit, and how advertising, analytics and notifications work.

What we collect ourselves

West Ham News has no user accounts, sign-in, or comments. We don't collect names, addresses or payment details, because we don't ask for any. The only thing our own servers store about a visitor is, optionally, a push notification subscription (see below) — everything else on this page describes data collected by third-party services we use.

Cookies and similar technologies

Pages on this site can set cookies and use browser storage (such as localStorage) for two purposes: remembering whether you've turned match/news notifications on, and the third-party advertising and analytics services described below. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; some site features (like staying subscribed to notifications) rely on them.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We show ads served by Google AdSense. We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate traffic — for example, which pages are popular and roughly how many people visit. This uses cookies and, like advertising cookies, only activates with consent for UK/EEA visitors. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Push notifications

If you tap the bell icon and allow notifications, your browser creates a push subscription (an endpoint URL and encryption keys) which we store on our server so we can send you match and news alerts. This subscription isn't linked to your name or any other personal information. You can turn notifications off at any time by tapping the bell icon again or by blocking notifications for this site in your browser settings — either removes your subscription.

Article cards link out to the original publisher (BBC, football.london, Mirror Football and others). Once you leave westham.news, that publisher's own privacy policy applies — we have no control over, and aren't responsible for, their data practices.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
